Who?

My name is Liam O’Brien and i am an Industrial Designer with a passion for creative problem solving and design for manufacture.
Over the past 7 years I have worked on design projects for some of Australia’s leading brands, retailers, marketing agencies, research organizations, start ups and architecture firms.

After a decade accumulating experience across design and manufacturing i decided to pursue my dream of providing an end to end design consultancy. Off the back of strong demand Nightlight and Co was born in 2018.

"I am meticulous with my work, from creative through to detailed design, production management and installation.
I take an above and beyond approach to my work, and enjoy collaboration across a broad range of industries including retail display, high volume overseas manufacturing, furniture design, architecture, interior design, digital kiosks, offset and digital printing."

GJSO Collection

To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the award winning 'GJSO' chair,  Liam O’Brien formed Nightlight and Co as a means to bring his unique designs to the people.

Offering a series of interchangeable elements, limited edition prints and artistic collaborations, the new range from Nightlight and Co is set to grow and evolve.

'GJSO' Gorjoso chair was designed in 2005 by Liam O'Brien whilst completing a major in Furniture Design at the University of Technology, Sydney.

GJSO chair incorporates a unique and original construction method inspired by nautics and innovative joining methods used in architecture.

GJSO chair has won a number of major Australian Furniture design awards and is destined to become a  timeless classic.
